Three years ago a friend and myself stumble across a Great Blue Heron rookery. I took my annual spring bushwacking adventure there this afternoon and wasn't disappointed. I counted 12. All in a nest. There were at least 10 empty nests aswell. Being the middle of the day the rest may of been off foraging elsewhere. I never stay long as to not disturb them and remain super quiet for this place is a gem and if I bothered them I would be very put out.
