This morning there was something sitting at the edge of our street. It almost looked like a ball, but with a bird back to it. I grabbed some binoculars to get a good look at it as I did not want to disturb it. I wondered if it has been hit by a car or injured as it was just sitting there. It was a bird, apparently a Robin, but none like I had seen before.
When I looked closely at it, it had a huge breast, that appeared to be in two sections and grey/black part of its body was humped also, it looked like a bird on steroids.
I left it alone, and the within about 5 minutes I went to check on it again and it was gone. Assuming it flew off.
I know there are larger Robins from Canada, but I have never seen anything so muscular looking before.
