[Maine-birds] Sandhills

A stop at Messalonskee boat ramp yielded no Sandhills this morning, but 3 were found foraging a stubble field next to Mindy B's Hair Salon, on Rt 8 just S of Norridgewock at 11:28 AM.  Photos here:  http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S13630272

After checking all fields up to North Anson for No. Lapwings (curiously none found), I checked the marsh at Messalonskee at 2:13.  2 Sandhills were together on the marsh, vis from the guardrail just S of the RR crossing.

But in the morning, Messalonskee featured a nice group of 55 Ring-Necked Ducks, plus good numbers of Lesser Scaup, Com Goldeneyes, 2 ad Bald Eagles and 2 Harriers.
