Hi all,
My observations of note over the past seven days included:
- 3 Gadwall (FOY) and 3 Double-crested Cormorants (FOY), Maquoit Bay Trail, Brunswick, 3/30 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 1 Northern Shrike, 1 Merlin (FOY), and 4+ American Woodcocks, Pineland Farms, New Gloucester, 3/30 (with annual "Woodcocks Gone Wild!" field trip)
- 3 Fox Sparrows (FOY), Florida Lake Park, Freport, 3/31.
- 1 Tree Swallow (FOY) and 1 Osprey (FOY), Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 3/31.
- 110 Green-winged Teal, 31 Ring-necked Ducks, 3 Lesser Scaup, 2 Northern Pintails, 1 American Wigeon, etc, Mouth of the Abagadasset River, Bowdoinham, 4/2.
- 1 Evening Grosbeak and 2 Fox Sparrows. our yard in Pownal, 4/3. A second EVGR was there on 4/4.
- 1 Northern Shrike, Rte 192, Northfield, 4/4 (with a client).
- 1 American Kestrel, South Lubec Road, Lubec,4/4 (with a client).
- 2 Boreal Chickadees, Boot Head Preserve, Lubec, 4/4 (with a client).
- nice flight of Dark-eyed Juncos and Song Sparrows arrived in Washington County overnight 4/4-5, with a lot of roadside birds in the early am.
- Up to 20 Common Redpolls continued in our Pownal yard this week.
