[Maine-birds] Watching gulls

Large mixed flocks of gulls have fed on worms in midcoast fields in recent days. On 4/11/13 I found a wing-tagged ring-billed at Samoset Resort. That bird was captured in Worcester MA on 11/15/12. A bright orange tag (704) appears on the left wing. What is interesting is that I found the same gull 8-9 miles inland at Agricola Farm on RTE 17 in Union this morning. The flock of 150 gulls there also contained 2 adult Lesser Blackbacks. Reports of LBBG seem to be increasing across Maine.
