[Maine-birds] Amazing Experience at Hatties

I woke up late this morning and saw all of the reports from early in the day.  It was cloudy and very gray in Saco, but I figured I'd take a quick jaunt to Biddeford Pool to see the Plovers.  Then I headed up to Hatties and walked around Gilbert Pl and Elphis.  Nice amount of Warblers there...

I heard Terns calling from Hatties so I headed there next and walked all the way out to the waters edge.  When I got there, as I was observing the terns diving, I heard this really loud WHOOSH come from behind me and then in front of me I saw at least 70 Semipalmated Sandpipers.I posted some shots and the story on my blog.

Also caught a flock of nearly 40 Ruddy Turnstones with 9 BB Plovers mixed in.

I made a composite of 20 images that I shot at 10mm of the peeps around me.  It was amazing.
