Re: [Maine-birds] Black-bellied Whistling Ducks MDI HS

Hi Doug,

I was walking out to leave and they seemed unaffected by the people coming
and going. The fact that these birds have been blown so far out of range
coupled with the amazing mix of southern and deep southern migrants this
speaks so loudly about the Power of Wind and Weather patterns and bird
migration. They were totally focused on foraging with heads buried under
water feeding and searching for food. Plenty of nutrients in these waters!!

I am happy for the one shot they gave me. I got this shot when that bird
jumped to re-position and continue eating.

I have never seen such diversity in species like this migration. I am I awe
of our Mother Earth and the am thankful for another Life Bird. I will stop
by on the way home. I'll let you know what I know and perhaps others have
been back. Becky Marvil gets the big thanks!!

I'll let you know

Michael

Nice shot! Did they fly out while you were there or are they still around?

See you Thursday!

Doug
