[Maine-birds] Arboretum Walk List and Schedule

Low clouds and fog kept things fairly quiet during this morning's bird walk at Viles Arboretum, 153 Hospital Street, in Augusta.
Species seen were:
 
Great Blue Heron
Turkey Vulture
Mourning Dove
Downy Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpecker
Warbling Vireo
Blue Jay
American Crow
Tree Swallow
Black-capped Chickadee
House Wren
Eastern Bluebird
American Robin
Yellow Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Black and White Warbler
Ovenbird
Song Sparrow
Savannah Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Red-winged Blackbird
Brown-headed Cowbird
Purple Finch
American Goldfinch
 
Later at the Augusta Nature Club trails off Cony Street, Cheryl Ring and I saw a calling Veery.
 
Morning walks beginning at 7:00 will take place at the Arboretum on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through May 24.
On Wednesday mornings through the period the walks will take place near the Augusta Airport. Meet at the parking lot at the back (North end) of Mt. Hope Cemetery, to the right at the top of Winthrop Street in Augusta.
All walks are free.
