Observation start time: 12:00:00
Observation end   time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 3 hours

Official Counter:        Katrina Fenton

Observers:

Visitors:
10.

Weather:
Low clouds and fog delayed the count until early afternoon, when visibility
improved to around 10 miles. Temperatures warmed to around 60F. The wind
was a murmer out of the southeast, just enough to sway the newly emerged
leaves. Additional fog and approaching rain shut down the hawkwatch an hour
early.

Raptor Observations:
A single Osprey rose out of the south, vanishing into the bottom of the
clouds. Thirty seconds later it reappeared to the north, circled up until
it was a barely visible shaddow in the fog, then glided on, the only
migrant raptor of the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
Yellow-rumped Warblers were taking advantage of the fog to keep traveling.
Not much else was on the move. A total of 27 species was observed at the
summit.

Non-raptor Migrants:

Tree Swallow- 5
Yellow-rumped Warbler- 21
American Goldfinch- 8
passerine sp.- 1

Predictions:
Tomorrow will be warm and humid with temperatures closing in on 70F. It
will be overcast, with a few breaks of sun possible in the morning and late
afternoon. Scattered showers and afternoon thunderstorms could develop, but
the chance diminishes the closer you are to the coast, so we may stay dry.
The wind will be light, out of the west-southwest to start and finishing
out of the south-southeast. If the rain holds off and the fog lifts, there
may be some birds taking advantage of the favorable wind.
