Hi all -- returning from a day in Rockland/Thomaston today, I spotted one Red-necked Grebe in the cove just north of Rockland (there is a small picnic park off Rte 1 there), and a tight raft of 20 Common Eider just off of the Verona Island public boat ramp, near Bucksport. It seemed possible those eider were en route up the Penobscot to points north.
Oh, and I also spotted 2 Acadia Birding Festival goers shopping in downtown Searsport: the pair of friends from Indiana and Missoula. Ecotourism just keeps on giving...Craig
