[Maine-birds] Final score: Spruce Grouse 5, Ruffed Grouse 2

A trip down the Burn Road in Topsfield this morning turned up the first Spruce Grouse within the first few hundred yards. By the end of the morning, we tallied four more SPGR in the road and only two RUGR.

So 5-2 is not just the final score that got the Red Sox into the World Series…

Plenty of Gray Jays checked us out. The first pair was easy to find because they were squawking about a Sharp-shinned Hawk marauding nearby. One lingering Palm Warbler was still present. Just about everything else today was a junco…flocks of them everywhere we went.
