[Maine-birds] Unity migrants

Just after sunrise this morning a flock of 260 Black Scoters flew into Unity Pond.  Other ducks in the area included Buffleheads, Ruddy Ducks, a pair of pintails and a few other species.  At least that many scoters were still present at the end of the day but at the north end where a count was impossible from Field of Dreams.  The flock appeared to be nearly 100% males.

Also at least 26 Rusty Blackbirds were seen in the marsh along with my first two tree sparrows of the year.

Good birding,
tom
