Where would one look/listen for the YB Cuckoo? And which direction on the RR tracks did you walk?

Surveyed the St Lawrence and Atlantic RR tracks down to the big marsh yesterday (New Gloucester). Half of the hayfields down there have been mowed. Seems early. Maybe they try to get 2 cuttings a season. Still dozens of Bobolinks on the remaining uncut fields.
Few highlights:
YBCuckoo
Continuing singing Prairie Warbler on the territory once taken by the Blue-winged Warbler
2 Va Rail calls, from the swamp near rt 231, and the big marsh
2 widely sep Willow Flies
4 Alder Flies
1 EWPewee
1 Empidonax sp. (silent, yellowish, I don't think an Acadian.)
Any duckage on open water in the big marsh remained totally out of sight
