A handful of visitors to the SeaWatch at Schoodic Point this morning witnessed 5 Caspian Terns
diving into frothy near shore waters. The spectacle was continues, as at least two of the birds performed off and on during my two hour stint there.
Two ruddy turnstones flew in and perched on the rocks and a black-legged kittiwake passed by.
Common loons were also on the move and three white-winged scoters were spotted.
Schoodic Institute's Bird Ecology Program conducts migratory research and educational programs in partnership
with Acadia National Park. SeaWatch, Frazer Point Morning Flight, and Hawk Watch on Cadillac are three current monitoring efforts.
