Re: [Maine-birds] Black Vulture - Great Salt Bay

Although it has been about 10 years, I saw a Black Vultlure around the chicken farm on Rt. 1 in Waldoboro, with a number of Turkey Vultures. I would think this would be another area to check for this bird. We passed through twice last week, but did not note anything but Turkey Vultures.

Hi all:

Peter Vickery just called to report that he and Tom Johnson and their group from the Hog Island Audubon program just had a Black Vulture soaring northeastward with three Turkey Vultures over Great Salt Bay (terminus of the Damariscotta River in Newcastle/Damariscotta). Perhaps heading toward Camden-Rockport?

Good luck chasing!

Best to all,
Jan
