Caught a few pockets of migrants around the island yesterday morning & early afternoon (some near the beginning of the causeway, but mostly scattered). Activity seemed to pick up as it got warmer. 10 warbler species:
Nashville 3
N. Parula 6
Chestnut-sided 2
Cape May 1
Bl.-thr. Blue 1
Yellow-rumped 8
Bl.-thr. Green 3
Blackpoll 4
C. Yellowthroat 1
Flocking with them were B-C Chickadee, Solitary Vireo, R-B Nuthatch & Hairy Woodpeckers. Had one “Traill’s” Flycatcher along with an incessantly-calling Eastern Wood-Pewee, which I thought was a bit late. There was also a Black-billed Cuckoo calling, almost within sight of the main road.
