[Maine-birds] Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and Northern Waterthrush at Essex Woods in Bangor, 10/24

This fairly awful weather has kept me mostly indoors the last few days. While I've enjoyed staying warm and making more and more pots of coffee, I was excited to get back out in the field this morning. Apparently the weather was worth it from a birding perspective, because in the span of 5 minutes and 10 yards, I encountered both a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and a Northern Waterthrush! They were both located roughly 30 yards from the Garden Way entrance.

Both are very late and the gnatcatcher is the first I've seen in Maine. Sure makes me wonder what else is in the area today - hope I can get back out!

Good birding!
