[Maine-birds] central Maine birds - Hudsonian Godwit

Bruce Barker found a juvenile Hudsonian Godwit at Sebasticook Lake this morning (6 Nov). The bird was actively snapping up small flies on the water's surface and running along the shoreline like a yellowlegs from the small parking area at the west end (by Rt 7 in Newport) east to the boat launch (thanks to Jerry Smith). This is a rockin' Penobscot County bird! A few White-rumped Sandpipers, a Northern Shrike in Benton, and a Dickcissel at a Belgrade feeder today and yesterday are some other birds of note. Good Birding!
