[Maine-birds] Rockland Junko

Thanks for the interest and input on the Rockland junco. Having personally seen numerous immature female juncos with varying degrees of brownish flanks (and in some cases, including parts of the mantle), the possibility of a straight forward Slate-colored Junco had entered my mind. And that may indeed be the case in this instance. The extent and intensity of brown on this particular bird lead to an initial conclusion of possible Oregon-type. Maine-Birds remains as an ideal forum for sharing sightings and examining birds together while drawing on a broad range and depth of field experience.
