[Maine-birds] L/A Sabattus lakes and rivers

Hello All,

Sabattus Pond had more or less the same birds that Derek posted on his site a couple days ago:  600ish Ruddy Ducks, 300+ Common Merg, est. 150-200 Scaup of both flavors, Buffleheads and Hoodies in good number, 9 coots.  3 Bald Eagles were shuffling the birds around.  One Loon and a few Mallard and Blacks.

Lake Auburn had only 2 Horned Grebes and 65 Canada Geese.

Two Wood Duck from the Durham Boat Launch on the Androscoggin River.

Most notable were 3 groups of Ring-billed Ducks each 100 to 225 each in fields following yesterdays rains.  Five Great Black-backed Gulls at the falls in L/A were probably storm related.  A block on feeding the ducks has dropped the number there from 200+ to about a dozen.

And a Peregrine Falcon on the steeple of the Franco-American Center in Lewiston.
