Shortly before noon today, I found a Snowy Owl at the Hampden industrial park along Rte. 202 (same area where one was seen for awhile last winter). It was perched on the top back end of a Penske Truck Rental trailer, parked in line with 3 or 4 Penske white truck cabs.( Penske is the last business on the left). It had a considerable amount of dark "scalloping" on it, which up to several years ago would have indicated a young bird, but recent studies show this may not be accurate; so I'm deferring aging ( of the owl - not me, unfortunately!) to anyone with more experience. Jerry Smith arrived after I left and was able to get some pictures.
