Hi all,
I enjoyed a most productive morning birding in Biddeford and Saco today, resulting in the following highlights:
- Saco Yacht Club and Riverwalk:
1 continuing immature female AMERICAN REDSTART (Photos; first found by Becky Marvil et al on the 11/9 Rarity Roundup).
1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER (Phiotos).
5 Red-winged Blackbirds and 2 Common Grackles.
- 94 Dunlin, 53 Purple Sandpipers, and 1 Sanderling, Saco Rivermouth jetties from Hill's Beach.
- 1 continuing PACIFIC LOON, off East Point, Biddeford Pool (first found by Pat Moynahan).
- 15 Ruddy Turnstones with 60+ Purple Sandpipers, Ocean Ave, Biddeford Pool.
- 1 SNOWY OWL, Beach Island off of Ocean Ave (my first of the season).
- 1 adult SNOW GOOSE, passing overhead with a small skein of Canada Geese as I scoped the owl.
A wee bit blustery, however.
-Derek
