Last night we heard what sounded like a small, yapping dog, first to the East of our lot, then to the West of our lot. It was dark (6:35- 50). None of our neighbors has a small, yapping dog. Our mid-sized mostly silent dog took definite notice. She is very good at taking inventory of the critters that frequent our yard. Classic series of short barking-like sounds, separated by short pauses. Assuming it was migrating thru, it may have been following the shoreline of Dam Cove, thence the New Meadows River, on its way to Scarborough probably (or maybe Popham Beach).
