[Maine-birds] Sighings in Hancock Cty: Red-bellied W'pecker; Wood Duck; late Laughers remain

Hi all -- a friend who lives near the Ellsworth Elementary School just reported a Red-bellied Woodpecker this morning.

Also of note, 3 late Wood Duck drakes in Bass Harbor Marsh this morning (first in the open marsh, then flew into hiding in the pannes), along with 3 Hooded Mergansers and a distant small flock of Canada Geese. And I counted five late Laughing Gulls still lingering with Ring-bills, Herrings, and Great Black-backeds at Seawall Picnic Area this morning. Very quiet in the wooded loops of Seawall Campground, save a few Am. Robins.

Cheers,
Craig K
