Subject: [augusta-birds] more on Snowy Owl

Sorry for the lack of details in my previous post – I was standing there watching it and thumbing the message on my phone.

Attached is a photo by Don Cameron of the bird.  It was still there at 9:15 AM when I left.

The location is the old AMHI campus on the east side of the Kennebec in Augusta.  Take Hospital St. south until you see the old brick buildings on the west side of the road.  The DEP building has a sign out front and the word "Ray" on the side of the building.  The bird is not visible from Hospital St as it is perched behind the southernmost cupola on the building.  There is ample parking so just find a spot there and walk behind the Ray building.  It is clearly visible from there.

The bird was originally found by Liz Hertz at DACF who thoughtfully called me and several others.  Great way to start the work day (I suppose by not working?).
