John Wyatt and I saw a female varied thrush in a private dooryard in Chester, ME yesterday morning. The bird has been present since Tuesday. The address is 490 North Chester Rd. and the homeowners welcome respectful birders. The bird was skittish, possibly from the horde of blue jays using the feeders. The feeders are located in a small oak between the house and the garage.
From the homeowner: Please inform folks to NOT park in the road, not a good spot. Pull into the driveway, come up and park in front of either the house or big garage is fine.
