A juvenile Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker was frequenting trees along the banks of the Royal River noonish today. Vis from the small parking lot signed: Grist Mill Park. Just off Rt 88. It was foraging trunks, as well as tips of branches, on several Maple Trees. Retreated to the upper trunk of a tall white pine to loaf.
