[Maine-birds] Bald Eagles, the confusing ages

Subadult Bald Eagles are not always easy to age. Here is a comparison photo depicting the Middle Ages (2nd and 3rd year) of birds photographed in here Maine during March:

Here is a juvenile also photographed in March:

And here is a juvenile flying away; it's one of the (not-a-) Golden Eagle angles:

Not usually a problem, but here is an adult showing typical pale whitish-gray patches at the base of the primaries that, despite the white head and tail, do cause confusion:
