Saw one Great Blue Heron on a grassy area at the edge of a brook that flows through our neighborhood on Coburn Ave., Skowhegan. The bird was soon flushed by a neighbor's cat that patrols the area but which has no front claws and is an inept hunter. The local squirrels are aware of the cat's limitations, but the heron, being a visitor, was not.
