[Maine-birds] Collins Pond N Windham - Phoebe, Wigeons. Wd Ducks etc

Had a FOY E Phoebe this a.m.
FOY R-W Blackbird yesterday - a female which never happens
Ice cleared early this year like everywhere else I'm sure so wasn't expecting a lot of ducks and tho' numbers were down have had some nice variety in the last few days including:
-small groups of Ring-Necks
- 3 Wd Ducks (2 drakes, 1 hen)
- 3 American Wigeons (first time I've more than 1 at a time) (2 drakes, 1 hen)
- lots of Canada Geese, last year was first year that we had any breeding pairs in the 23 yrs I've lived here.  Apparently they've discovered us.  Interestingly 1 pair had 5 goslings and the other pair had 1.  They must have been inexperienced parents because the other pair co-opted their gosling.  They hung around on the fringes for a while but the co-opters were adamant and they finally gave up.  Kind've glad because all 6 made it safely to adulthood. and I doubt that a lone gosling would have escaped the bass here.
