[Maine-birds] Duck hotspots: Bowdoinham, Sabbatus (RUDU, SACR), Scarborough Marsh (Common Teal; GADW), etc, 3/20

Hi all,
I fun loop today produced a great diversity of early season waterbirds.

Mouth of the Abagadesset River, Bowdoinham:
363 American Black Ducks
184 Mallards
159 Canada Geese
79 Green-winged Teal
24 Common Mergansers
10++ Mallard x black duck hybrids
6 Wood Ducks
1 American Wigeon
1 Common Goldeneye

Sabattus Pond:
82 Common Mergansers
15 RUDDY DUCKS (FOY)
6 Mallards
4 Lesser Scaup
2 Ring-necked Ducks
1 SANDHILL CRANE (FOY) - heard only from south end beach, it sounded close, but I never caught site of it. My guess was that it was flying low and it dipped below treeline.

Rte 136 from Auburn through Durham lacked flooded fields, and therefore completely lacked ducks.

Fish Crows (4; FOY) were back at the Maine Mall area.

Grondin Pond in Scarborough hosted:
64 Ring-necked Ducks
26 Mallards
4 Canada Geese

And then at Scarborough Marsh, highlights included:
1 Great Blue Heron (FOY), Dunstan Landing
2 pairs Gadwall (FOY), Nature Center
1 "EURASIAN" GREEN-WINGED TEAL (aka Common Teal), between Eastern Rd and the nature center. Unfortunately, it swam into a creek and out of view on the falling tide before I could phone-scope it.
1 Double-crested Cormorant (FOY), off Eastern Road Trail.
