[Maine-birds] Re: Where to bird at Rachel Carson NWR?

Like any birding spot, Timber Point can be great or quiet.  You just never know, but it's one of the most reliable spots for warblers in York County.  Coming from Biddeford turn left on Granite Point Rd. off of Rt. 9 in Biddeford.  Keep bearing right.  You will come to a spot where the pavement ends and there are about 6 parking spots there.  Walk along the dirt road that leads along the cove. When you come to a fork, keep right and past a gate.  That's the most reliable stretch.  You can also continue about half a mile.  Where the road is chained off (no pubic access out to the former Ewing home), take the trail to the right that leads out to the point on the open ocean.  Good luck!

I have the day off tomorrow and am thinking about heading down to Rachel Carson NWR.  I'd primarily be interested in migrants (warblers) and also seeing the white eyed vireo people have been seeing.  Is there a recommended parking place or particular trail where I should start?   The NWR seems spread over a large area so I'm unsure of where to head.  Any help is appreciated!
