Yesterday morning we were with Joel Wilcox and Sandy Fairbanks (birders from Cherryfield) and we searched for the Upland Sandpipers in Columbia and Jonesport. They were there - but we didn't see as many birds at the old navy station in Columbia as last year.
We also looked for shorebirds in the Addison salt ponds and at the public boat landing. At the boat landing we saw, across the river on the mud banks at high tide, 130+ Black-bellied Plover, 10+ Semipalmated Plover, 3 Semipalmated Sandpipers, and 3 Ruddy Turnstones. The Ruddy Turnstones were a first for us at this spot.
