[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week, 8/30-9/2 and Shorebird High Counts

Hi all,

My observations of note over the past four days since returning from Washington County (photos not finished yet!) were limited to today around Biddeford Pool with clients from Florida and Massachusetts:

- 1 continuing juvenile YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, Vine's Landing.
- 1 continuing Red-necked Grebe, Ocean Ave.
- 1 CASPIAN TERN, Hill's Beach.

My shorebird high counts over the past seven days, however, were as follows:
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER (FOY): 1 ad, Hill's Beach, Biddeford, 9/2 (with clients).
Black-bellied Plover: 91, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 9/1.
Semipalmated Plover: 146, Hill's Beach, 9/2 (with clients).
Killdeer: 3, Highland Road, Brunswick, 9/1
Greater Yellowlegs: 18, Wharton Point, 9/1.
Lesser Yellowlegs: 3, Wharton Point, 9/1.
Solitary Sandpiper: 2, Addison Marsh, Addison, 8/29 (with Washington County Weekend tour group).
"WESTERN" WILLET, Hill's Beach, 9/2 (with clients).
Spotted Sandpiper: 1, many locations throughout  the week.
Whimbrel: 3, Hill's Beach, 9/2 (with clients).
Ruddy Turnstone: 3, The Pool, Biddeford Pool, 9/2 (with clients).
Red Knot: 16 juvs, The Pool, 9/2 (with clients).
Sanderling: 75-100, Lubec Bar and Flats, 8/28 (with Washington County Weekend tour group).
Semipalmated Sandpiper: 1500, Lubec Bar and Flats, 8/28 (with Washington County Weekend tour group).
Least Sandpiper: 250+, Lubec Bar and Flats, 8/28 (with Washington County Weekend tour group).
White-rumped Sandpiper: 2, Hill's Beach, 9/2 (with clients).
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER: 1 juv, beach across from Pike's Puddle, Lubec, 8/28 (with Washington County Weekend tour group).
Short-billed Dowitcher: 32, Wharton Point, 9/1.
