[Maine-birds] Camera strap failure for people who carry a camera

One of my birding friends just told me that his Carbineer pulled out of the buckle,  his camera and lens hit the ground.   It was soft dirt so no damage.

I checked my strap and noticed the Carbineer has worn through by about 60 percent, so I added a shoelace to go from the tripod mount to the strap as a safety back up.

So because I care, I would suggest you check your straps for wear so you do not damage your camera and lens.

Happy birding and photo shooting
