We did some exploring at the Long Point Preserve in Machiasport and heard, then saw, a flock of about 25 Red Crossbills - a first-of-the-season for us. This preserve seems pretty birdy with nice viewing spots for sea ducks and raptors. It is owned by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust.
