Re: [Maine-birds] blackbirds and binoculars

Nikon Monarch 10x42. They run in the $300-350 range depending on where you get them. They are rugged and all weather. I'm sorry to say I do not take very good care of my bins but these are 12 years old and still the finest pair of bins I've ever owned. The service, I dropped my old bins, was excellent too. Good Luck!

Have been seeing many large groups of blackbirds flying high at dawn and dusk mostly in the Kittery area.  There is a huge (100,000) roost in Portsmouth, NH, so they are likely heading to or coming from there.

Also, am in the market for new binoculars having found some money in a shoebox!  Would appreciate amy input from birders on bins in the $500 range including where to purchase same.  Thanks in advance.  Dave Tucker, Kittery Pt.      dhtucker@comcast.net
