Other good birds from the Ellsworth-Hog Bay CBC on Saturday (besides those terrific finds mentioned by Craig K. in a previous email) were a red-bellied woodpecker on feeders in the Georges Pond area and a fox sparrow on feeders in Sullivan near Tidal Falls.
-- Despite the negative 16 degree start to our morning (!!) we had a good day. Tally incomplete but I believe our species count was comparable or better than last year. Not sure about abundance yet.
Just proves how much fun CBC's are when you can be that cold and still glad you did it!
