[Maine-birds] Flyover American Bitterns

Seen from the Spring Point Shoreway trail near Fort Preble in South Portland late this afternoon, a  flock of 4 American Bitterns flew overhead across the ocean from the direction of Peaks Island.  They were flying low and easily recognizable, heading inland.

Nearby on Beach Street a Carolina Wren was also seen, and yesterday a Red-bellied Woodpecker was heard calling from the woods adjoining the main entrance to Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth.
