At mile 32 south on 295 in Topsham, there had been a large active osprey nest for many years. This winter, it blew
off the electric poles. Two days ago, two osprey were perched on the empty poles. On 201, parallel to 295, there is also a more recent nest and the same day I saw the two osprey, I saw a single one on 201, all nests placed on the electric lines that run across the countryside here. I have read some of the controversy about removal of these lines and the impact on osprey. Does anyone know more?
