I walked down to the Sidney boat landing on Messalonskee Lake and was relieved to find that many phoebes survived the ice pellets yesterday.
I also found my kestrels busy on territory on the Goodhue Road (and later up near my house) as well as a singing savannah sparrow at the Bacon Farm.
I had a red bellied woodpecker calling that I hope will stick around for the Breeding Bird Atlas counts--it's in my block.
Later, driving back from Augusta, I had a cormorant on a farm pond on the Pond Road. Very strange.
