[Maine-birds] Bluebirds!! Migrating. Sanford/New Dam Rd.

Very surprised and happy to look out the window at my home (mostly in the woods) just after 5 pm, to see an Eastern Bluebird splashing around in my front yard makeshift bird bath! Another was poking into the soil of a hanging plant nearby.

Migrating, no doubt, as there is no bluebird habitat or food around. I was so lucky to see them, but not fortunate enough to get a photo because of window blinds. As soon as I moved the curtain they flew, not to be refound from my porch. What a treat on a beautiful Fall day!

It may be the only bluebird I've seen all year, since I can't walk very well; surely the first one in my yard in 12 years here. I had to look twice, as bluejays are often present.
