[Maine-birds] Wells obs: Horned Lark, Common Redpoll

15 Horned Larks were poking around near the gazebo at Wells Harbor Park this morning. Had long scope views before they took off. I came upon them again, plus 4 yellow-rumps, along the road on the way out.

Took a noon walk to Laudholm Beach. It was pretty quiet except when the eagle scared up the ducks. I had just climbed the steps off the beach when 3 redpolls tumbled in, chittering. One landed on the boardwalk rail a few feet away, then went back up and away as a flock of 30 geese honked past.
