Hi, All!
Just a quick note to say that birdwatching in Maine is not always about the birds! Here's the lovely little weasel in his winter colors that we encountered at Wells Harbor, Maine yesterday. Apparently he has been a resident for the past few years. He's very inquisitive, not timid and very photogenic! The locals told us that he has single-handedly been keeping the pigeon population in check by feasting on their eggs during the breeding season. On the bird scorecard, we say harlequin ducks, long-tailed ducks and eiders at Nubble Light. A horned grebe and common goldeneye at Wells Harbor. Not a bad day at all!
