[Maine-birds] BOWA - Waterville; BAGO - Shawmut; HOLA and LALO - Flood Farm

I birded this morning with Lance Benner (originally from Waterville and visiting from CA). Before we left I had 35 Bohemian Waxwings on trees on Pleasanthill Drive, Waterville again.

Highlights at the Shawmut Dam, Fairfield were 1 Barrows Goldenye with about 180 Common Goldeneyes, 2 Common Megansers, 1 Bald Eagle, over 300 Mallards. Complete list at: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S12396625

At the Flood Farm, Clinton we had 2 Red-tailed hawks, 1 Cooper's Hawk, 1 Glaucous Gull, 1 Iceland Gull, 80 Redpolls, 115 Horned Larks in two groups (35 +80) and 1 Lapland Longspur, 7 Tree sparrows, 1 Song Sparrow, as well as the usual Herring gulls, Rock Pigeons, Starlings, and Crows.  List: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S12396820

Redpolls were everywhere - a large flock of about 150 found on the River Road, Benton on the way to the Flood Farm; in the road itself and along the edge in tall weeds.  http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S12396744
