[Maine-birds] Taylor Road, Orono


Taylor Road in Orono (the dump road)has provided some fruitful birding the last two days. The list includes:
1 American Bittern (first of season)
3 Belted Kingfishers
1 male Northern Harrier constantly cruising the edges of the first two ponds
2 Osprey
3 Ruby-crowned Kinglets (fos)
3 Palm Warblers (link to photo above)  (fos)
1 White-throated Sparrow (fos)
Small flock of Green-winged Teals at the third pond
several Buffleheads 
6 Common Mergansers
2 Swamp Sparrows  (fos)
1 Northern Flicker (fos)
several Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers drumming and mewing
Barred Owl calling nearby in the woods
many Eastern Phoebes
