Mark,
I was surprised to hear a saw-whet cranking for at least 30 minutes here in Unity last night. I haven't been hearing them lately so I wonder if there may have been some recent movement?
Good birding,
tom

Owls have thus far evaded me from my driveway this spring, I immediately hears a Saw-Whet Owl across the street and at the same time heard a Barred Owl at quite a distance to the right, then drove a mile to a spot that has been a nesting area for Great-Horned Owls and heard one of them hooting. What a night !!!!!!!!Mark R HoffmanNewcastle Maine207-458-1897
