[Maine-birds] Blue-headed Warbler

Hi, Norm,

Could you please give us more details on that Blue-headed Warbler.  It would be a life bird for many of us.  I'd hate for it to be as elusive as ABA's Glue Gray Gnatcatcher of years gone by.  :-D

Birds were singing sporadically, especially magnolia warblers.  I was in red spruce woods for about two hours between noon and 2:00 and in a pasture for about 1/2 hour.  It started raining around 1:15.  which shut down bird song activity.

3 Swainson's thrushes

5 Magnolia warblers - All singing

1 Black-throated blue warbler - Singing

3 Yellow-rumped warblers - Singing

2 Black-throated green warblers - Singing

1 Blue-headed warbler - Singing

8 Dark-eyed juncos

2 White-throated sparrows

3 Golden-crowned kinglet

1 Boreal chickadee

2 American robins

1 Eastern phoebe

1 European starling

2 Song sparrows - One singing

1 Savannah sparrow - Singing

4 Red squirrels

16 Fairy houses
