[Maine-birds] Re: Northern Maine Birds: Am White Pelican returns

The American White Pelican was seen again this AM at Lake Josephine in Easton.  Apparently the bird is moving about the area but is regular at both Lake Jo and over at Christina Reservoir in Fort Fairfield.

The MDIF&W biologists that are banding ducks here report they've seen the pelican regularly all month.

Between work-related site visits this morning, I swang through Lake Josephine in Easton and found that the American White Pelican had returned to the area.  The bird was sitting on a stump, mid-lake with a couple Double-crested Cormorants.

The pelican was last spotted departing from nearby Christina Reservoir on July 31 and to my knowledge, hasn't been reported since.  I was able to get a few phone photos.

13 American Kestrels spotted on the wires along my route home tonight.  An adult male Ruby-throated Hummingbird is still lingering at my feeders too.
