[Maine-birds] Allagash Bourbon Black?

Hi all,
I wasn't even going to ask - so as not to give Whine-Arm more ammo - but this was from the Bier Cellar Newsletter.  Jeannette and I had this at the brewery the other day.  You all decide if it counts.

Regardless, it was a truly great beer, and shows what bourbon-barrel aging can really do in the hands of someone other than, say, Shipyard.

Allagash Bourbon Black

We have been getting lots of calls and questions regarding Allagash Bourbon Black bottles.  As some of you know, this is the first time this beer has been bottled, after being available only on draft.  The beer is made by aging a portion of Allagash's Belgian style stout Black in Jim Beam bourbon barrels, and then blending that portion with batches of Black.  What results is a bourbon barrel stout that shows the bourbon and oak as a layer in the beer, rather than a bourbon punch to the face.

The beer is being released in cork and caged 750ml bottles.  They will retail for $16.99 a bottle.  We are going to hold a portion of the bottles to be available during our Allagash Bourbon Barrel tasting on Saturday from 3-5pm.  The rest of the bottles will be available tomorrow, first come, first serve, 1 per customer, email list only.  Any bottles left over tomorrow will be available at Saturday's tasting.

We hope to see you soon, we are open 2-8pm Monday, 12-8pm Tuesday - Friday, 10am-7pm Saturday, 12pm - 6pm Sunday.

Thanks
